    Madda Studio honors the full lifecycle of handspun wool with contemporary creations that champion the traditional artisan technique of weaving and felting with exceptional quality. Using the untreated wool of the Chiapa Sheep, these pillows begin with the support of over 60 indigenous women in the highlands of Chiapas using pre-Hispanic drop spindles. Founder and designer, Maddaelena Forcella then oversees the color process using natural dyes derived from plants, bark, flowers and the Cochineal insect. Finally the wool is handed off to master weavers in Oaxaca and Chiapas to finish the pieces on pedal looms.
